TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida Attorney General Charles Crist announced Tuesday that he will file papers seeking the dismissal of a lawsuit filed against the University of Miami and the Atlantic Coast Conference over expansion.
Four remaining Big East football schools are seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages in the suit filed in Connecticut, which contends Miami entered secret talks to join the ACC and sought to destroy the Big East.
On Monday, Miami announced its intention to leave the Big East and join the ACC, effective in the fall of 2004.
